Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner, Bentley's custom coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to mark the 100th anniversary of Bentley. It is made from Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight, keys, and an album of never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics
Bentley is a brand who takes its aesthetics seriously. The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. The rear tonneau, for instance, featured the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to a production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley claims it takes about 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to adopt the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not utilize a machine for arranging perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. And rather than letting the car's built-in sensors guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spots drivers must perform the task by hand.
In the course of the event, Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities with one particular example of the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to founder William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars come with a key that displays a piece of the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
